Fishing
Rybakken Camping is available by Gudbrandsdalslågen or "lågen" as it is called. the site is down by the river. Just outside the camping site it is good fishing spots. Here you will find the special trout trunk "Hunderørreten". This is a special trout strain in parts of Lågen.
We obviously can not guarantee to catch fish. It is, however, that there be a lot of fish here. Also, large fish. There are plenty of trout on several pounds in the river here. There will be a little stealth and guile needed to take these ... Maybe it could be you ..? Either way, you get a good fishing experience here. It's a nice, long beachline to walk along. You will find more about fishing opportunities in the river on the homepage Lågen fiskeelv. Below the dam to Hunderfossen, just south of us, on good days you see animals in the river trout. We can tell you more about where it is!
In the camping site there is also a fish pond. This was previously used for farming of rainbow trout. This activity ended a few years back. We now have permission to put hunderørret out in the pond. This is something we are considering doing.
A stay at Rybakken can also be a good starting point for fishing in the mountains. It takes you 20 minutes to get up the mountain and the first good fishing waters. Further into the mountains there are many more. Øyer Fjellstyre has made a good effort to pave the way with good fishingspots and good fishing.
